Family of Feyge (Solomon) and Binyomin Krasovsky

The earliest known Solomon family member is Menashe (Monash) Solomon, born in Raguva (Rogeve) sometime before 1808. His wife's name is unknown. The two known sons of Menashe Solomon:
I. Moshe Solomon was born in Raguva in 1828. He married Riva Beiner.
- The eight known children of Moshe Solomon and Riva Beiner:
- Itzik (Isaac) Solomon was born in 1850 in Raguva or Troskunai. He married Raycha, who was born in 1851. Raycha most likely died sometime after her fourth child was born. Itzik later married his second wife Pesia (later Bessie), born in Šeta (Shat) in 1864, daughter of Yakov. Itzik and Pesia had three more children. Itzik died in 1906, likely in Šeta. In 1919, Pesia emigrated to the U.S. with her three daughters, along with her step-daughter Sora Rivka and her children. Pesia/Bessie died sometime after 1920, likely in Massachusetts.

- Sora Rivka (Sarah) Solomon was born in Troskunai on 15 August 1887. On 10 March 1907 in Troskunai she married Abram Yosef (Yosel) Godashevich (later Joseph Kadish), who was born in Krivichi (now in Belarus) on 8 February 1881, son of Zalman Dovid Godashevich and Rochel Lieberman. The couple settled in Kovno. In 1913 Yosel went to America, with the expectation that the rest of the family would join him the following year. But World War I broke out in 1914. Sora Rivka fled with her children, step-mother and sisters first to Troskunai, then into Russia. In 1918 they traveled across Russia to sail to America from Japan. Sora Rivka lost one child in Russia and another soon after arrival in America. The couple had four more children in the U.S. Sarah died on 3 September 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts. Joseph died on 12 July 1971 in Randolph, Massachusetts.

- Rochel Ita Godashevich was born in Kovno on 9 August 1908. She died in 1916, probably in Syzran, Russia.
- Isaac (Itze) Godashevich was born in Kovno on 27 July 1910. He died in 1919, soon after arriving in the U.S.

DOCUMENT Record of Isaac/Itze Godashevich's arrival in U.S. (1919) - Golda "Goldie" (Grace) Godashevich (later Kadish) was born in Kovno on 16 October 1912, and came to the U.S. with her mother and grandmother in 1919. She married Louis Chiklis, and they had two children. Goldie died in Massachusetts on 22 December 2002.

DOCUMENT Record of Golda Godashevich's arrival in U.S. (1919) - Lillian Kadish was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on 8 July 1920. She married Leo Simblist and they had three children. Leo died in Newton, Massachusetts in 1950. Lillian died in Massachusetts on 16 September 2012.

In Kovno in November 1907 he married Nesel (later Nettie) Frank, who was born in Vilna in ~1890, and they emigrated to the U.S. in 1908. Samuel died in Boston on 2 January 1954. Nettie died on 25 March 1971.

DOCUMENT Jacob (Yankel) Solomon's declaration of intention for U.S. citizenship (1916) - The three children of Itzik Solomon and his second wife, Pesia:

She arrived in the U.S. in 1919 with her mother, sisters, and half-sister Sora-Rivka with her children. She married George Wellisch, who was born in Austria. Ida lived into her nineties.

- Fayvush Shraga Solomon was born ~1851 in Raguva or Troskunai. He married Chava-Ester Gordon (or Shneider), who was born ~1861 in Troskunai. Fayvush died before World War II. Chava-Ester was killed in the Holocaust, presumably in Pajuoste in August 1941.

- The children of Fayvush Shraga Solomon and Chava-Ester Shneider:
- Feyge Solomon was born in Troskunai in 1878. She married Binyomin Krasovsky, a tailor, who was born in ~1873 in Slonim, Poland. Feyge and Binyomin were killed in Troskunai in July 1941 by Lithuanian collaborators and buried in the mass grave at the Old Jewish Cemetery. (See the accounts of Itzhak Konkurovich and Miriam Krakinowski. The Krasovsky family is also mentioned several times in Berl Glezer's memoir.)

- Shaul/Saul (Sheylke) Krasovsky was born in Troskunai in 1905. He became a lawyer and worked in Kovno. Shaul was killed in the Holocaust in 1941.

PHOTO Shaul Krasovsky - Nechama Krasovsky was born in Trashkun on 5 May 1908. She emigrated to Brazil to marry Bentsel Karpov (Bencelis Karpovas), who was born in Ponevezh in 1902 and had emigrated earlier. Their official marriage in Brazil was on 18 July 1942 in São Paulo. They had a son Felipe (1934-1999) and a daughter Bertha Silvia. Bencelis died in São Paulo on 7 July 1951. Nechama died on 20 April 1968.

DOCUMENT Immigration card of Nechama Karpovas, Brazil - Sara (Sora, Sorka) Krasovsky was born in 1910. She and three of her sisters fled into Russia when World War II broke out and survived the war years in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She returned to Vilnius after the war and moved to Israel in the 1970s. She married Simcha Meklenburg and they had one son, Benjamin (Boma) Meklenburg. Sara died on 5 September 1992.

On 2 August 1934 in Kovno she entered into a fictitious marriage with Yankel Mendel Mirvis solely for the purpose of sharing one of the limited number of certificates for emigration to Palestine. They sailed to Palestine via Triest on the ship Pilzen on 26 August 1934. In 1942, Chaya married her actual husband, Shalom Meiri (originally Meier), who was born on 8 January 1916 in Schweinitz, West Prussia (now Świdnica, Poland). Shalom migrated to Palestine in 1935. He and Chaya had three children. Shalom died on 16 December 1990, and Chaya died on 19 October 1995, both in Israel.

She survived World War II in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with three of her sisters. She moved to Israel in the 1970s. She married Shlomo Kronsohn, who was born on 29 September 1909, and they had one son, Yakov (Yasha) Kronsohn. Sonia died on 10 August 1998, and Shlomo died on 17 April 1999.

She fled into Russia at the outbreak of World War II and survived the war in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with three of her sisters. The sisters all returned to Vilnius after the war. Rivka married Avraham "Yasha" Kilevich and they had one son, Natan Kilevich. Rivka died in Vilnius sometime after 1963, before her sisters migrated to Israel in the 1970s.

PHOTO Riva (Krasovsky) Kilevich with other survivors from Trashkun and their families (Vilnius, 1962) - Beyla Rocha Krasovsky was born on 29 May 1925. She survived World War II in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with three of her sisters. She returned to Vilnius after the war and moved to Israel in the 1970s. Beyla Rocha married David Evin, who was born on 17 April 1921. They had two children, a daughter Fania Evin (married name Kur) and a son Gena/Hertzl Evin. David Evin died on 12 August 2001. Beyla Rocha died on 29 May 2020, her 95th birthday.

DOCUMENT Record of Beyla Rocha Krasovsky in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, during World War II - Rivka (Rae) Solomon was born in Troskunai in ~1884. In 1907 she emigrated to America with her aunt and uncle (Chaya Sora and Ovsey Solomon) and their children, and settled in New York. In 1911 or 1912, Rae married Joseph Berman, who was born in Poland. Joseph died in Brooklyn, New York, on 25 November 1927. Rae died in New York on 8 February 1968. - The three children of Rae Solomon and Joe Berman:
- William (Bill or Willie) Berman was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on 17 August 1913. He married Freda Mildred Rothenberg, who was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on 4 February 1912 and died in North Lauderdale, Florida, on 16 March 2000. William died in Palm Beach County, Florida, on 10 November 1983.
- Harold (Harry) Berman was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on 7 November 1915. He married Sylvia Reiner, who was born in New York on 26 October 1916. Harold died in Palm Beach, Florida, on 3 June 1993. Sylvia died in Woodbridge, New Jersey, on 14 August 2017.
- Frances Berman was born in New York City on 30 May 1918. She married David Jacoby, who was born in Poland on 29 October 1907 and died on 20 February 1997. Frances died in Queens, New York, on 1 February 1998.
- Abram (Avrom) Solomon was born in Troskunai in 1886. On 4 January 1927 in Krakes (Krok), Lithuania, he married Basha, who was born in 1901 in Saukotas (Shavkot), Lithuania.

PHOTO Abram Solomon - Tzipa Solomon was born in Troskunai in 1886. She died in Troskunai in 1899 at the age of 13.
- Sholom Solomon (later Solomon Pavlovich Solomin) was born in Trashkun in 1888. He moved to Minsk, where he became a physician and married Sofia Krendel (born in 1897, daughter of Leyb Krendel). In 1928 they moved to Leningrad, and in 1933 they moved to Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg). Solomon died in 1961, and Sofia died in 1968, both in Sverdlovsk.

- Mones Solomon was a physician who lived in Minsk (Russia, now Belarus) in the 1920s.

- Aaron (Shlioma) Solomon was born in Troskunai on April 15, 1891. He emigrated to America in 1911. On 12 June 1926 in Boston, Massachusetts, he married Esther Helen Selman, who was born in Boston on 1 January 1903. Aaron died in August 1974, and Esther died on 18 December 1989, both in Boston, Massachusetts.

- Moshe Fayvel (Shraga) Pevzner was born in Troskunai 1923. As a young man, he worked for his uncle Binyomin Krasovsky, a tailor. Moshe Fayvel escaped into Russia in the summer of 1941. There, he volunteered for the Lithuanian Division of the Red Army and was killed at the front, probably in 1942.
(Moyshe-Fayvke Pevzner is mentioned in the memoirs of Shmuel Kovnovich and Berl Glezer, also in Shmuel Kovnovich's oral history interview.)

- Riva (Rivka) Solomon was born in Troskunai in 1904. On 28 August 1925 she married Nosen Kozhenetz, who was born ~1896 in Troskunai. Rivka, Nosen, and their children were killed in the Holocaust, presumably in August 1941 in Pajuoste. The three children of Rivka Solomon and Nosen Kozhenetz:
- Noyma Kozhenetz, born in Panevezys (Ponevezh) on 15 December 1927, died in 1941.
- Yosel Kozhenetz, born in Troskunai on 16 March 1932, died in 1941.
- Golda Kozhenetz, born in Troskunai on 19 September 1933, died in 1941.

- Sheyna Solomon was born in Troskunai in 1909. She survived the Kovno ghetto in World War II. After the war she married Chaim-Shimen Baranovsky (born in 1901), who had lost his first wife during the war. Sheyna died in 1970, and Chaim-Shimen died in 1971.

- Gershon (Gershke, Grisha) Baranovsky
- Elka Solomon was born in Troskunai in 1911. On 10 August 1930 in Raguva (Rogeve), she married Zoruch Kotsin, who was born in Panevezys (Ponevezh) in 1905. Elka died in the Holocaust, presumably in August 1941 in Pajuoste.
- Mones ("Mannie") Solomon was born ~1913 in Troskunai. He emigrated to South Africa sometime between the two world wars, and settled in Johannesburg. There he married Jenny Schiff, who was born in 1912 in Telsiai, Lithuania. Mannie died on 30 July 1987, and Jenny died on 19 February 1989, both in Johannesburg. The two children of Mannie Solomon and Jenny Schiff:
- Dawn Solomon was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1946. She married Alan Zeff and had two daughters. The two daughters and their families moved to Melbourne, Australia, in the late 1990s, and Dawn joined them there. Dawn died in Melbourne in 2005.
- Marion Solomon was born in Johannesburg and eventually went to live in Israel. The name of her husband is unknown.
- Reyza Solomon was born in 1863 in Raguva or Troskunai. She married Naftel Berkovich. The only known child of Reyza Solomon and Naftel Berkovich:
- Rebeka Berkovich was born in Raguva in 1897. On 20 June 1926 in Raguva, she married David Beker, who was born in 1896 in Ramygala (Remigole), Lithuania.
- Menashe (Monash) Solomon was born in 1865 in Raguva or Troskunai.
- Eliash Solomon was born in 1870 in Raguva or Troskunai. On 26 August 1903 he married Golda Zakshteyn, who was born in 1877, likely in Obeliai (Abel) or Kupiskis (Kupeshok), Lithuania. The only known child of Eliash Solomon and Golda Zakshteyn:
- Rivka Solomon, born in Obeliai (Abel), Lithuania, on 1 April 1905.
- Ovsey Solomon was born in 1873 in Raguva or Troskunai. He married Chaya Sora Magid, who was born in 1873 in Pumpenai (Pumpyan), Lithuania. They emigrated to the United States in 1907 with their children and niece Rivka (Rae) Solomon, and settled in New York. The two children of Ovsey Solomon and Chaya Sora Magid:
- Itsyk Hirsh Solomon was born in Troskunai on 6 December 1902 and emigrated to the US as a young child.
- Shepshel Solomon (Sapo) was born in Troskunai on 9 February 1903 and emigrated to the US as a young child.
II. Fayvish Solomon was born in Raguva in 1832. His wife Dina was born in 1835.
- The only known child of Fayvish and Dina Solomon:
- Moshe Solomon was born in Raguva in 1861. He married Sara Tog, who was also born in Raguva in 1861. The five known children of Moshe Solomon and Sara Tog:
- Leyb Solomon was born in Raguva in 1883.
- Ester Solomon was born in Raguva in 1886.
- Rocha Solomon was born in Raguva in 1889.
- Abram Solomon was born in Raguva in 1893.
- Hersh Solomon was born in Raguva in 1896.
