Hirsh Kozhenetz is the earliest known family member, born in Lithuania before 1772. His son Itsyk Kozhenetz was born in Vilkomir (Ukmerge) in 1792. Itzik married Freda, who was born ~1797 in Vilkomir and died on 30 October 1879 in Bauska, Courland, Latvia, just north of the Lithuanian border. The four known children of Itsyk and Freda Kozhenetz:
I. Aryeh Leyb Kozhenetz (later Louis Isadore Maltz) was born in Vilkomir (Ukmerge) in ~1824. In ~1858 he married Sora Rivka, who was born ~1837 in Vilkomir (Ukmerge). Sora Rivka died on 28 July 1875 in Bauska, Courland, Latvia. On 31 March 1876 in Zeyml (Žeimelis), Lithuania, Aryeh Leyb married his second wife, Dvora Hinda Rubinstein, who was born in 1854 in Bauska, Latvia. Aryeh Leyb (Louis Isadore Maltz) died on 5 December 1915 in Massachusetts, USA.

- Beatrice Green was born in Chicago on 20 August 1913. Although there is no evidence that she married Charles Blum (later Charles Lewis, born ~1910 in New York City), they had one son. She later married Samuel Ranofsky (born ~1910 in New York City, died in 1944 in New York City). Beatrice and Samuel had three children, one of whom died in infancy. Her first son also took the name Ranofsky. Beatrice later married Charles Levine (born 13 May 1922 in New York City, died on 17 May 1977 in New York City), and they had two more children. Beatrice died on 11 July 1979 in Jamaica, Queens, New York.
- Natalie Green was born 15 February 1916 in Chicago, Illinois. She married Leo Bloom (born 18 November 1909 in New York, died in January 1972 in New York). Natalie died on 28 March 1975 in Forest Hills, Queens, New York.
- Annette Green was born on 5 May 1920. She married Sylvan Greene, and they had two daughters. Annette Greene died on 4 May 2017.
- Charles Harold Green was born 11 November 1925 in the Bronx, New York. He married Gloria Sevarra, and they had one daughter. Charles died on 28 January 2001 in Margate, Florida.

- Wulf (Velvel, Ze'ev) Kozhenetz (later William "Willie" Cousin) was born in Trashkun 1883-1884. He emigrated to the US in 1903 to avoid being drafted into the Russian army, and he settled in Toledo, Ohio. He took the surname Cousin, and on 30 January 1908 he married Sara Libe (Sadie) Friedman (born in Austro-Hungary on 8 July 1884, daughter of Sam Friedman and Katie). Sadie died in Toledo on 6 May 1939. On 27 August 1940 William married Miriam Teitelbaum (born ~1889 in "Russia," daughter of Jacob Teitelbaum and Devora Teschovitz). On 16 November 1947 he married Bertha (Bela) Oldstein or Meyer (born 22 August 1892 in "Austria," daughter of Jacob Meyer and Sarah; died in Toledo on 5 October 1990). William Cousin died in Toledo, Ohio, on 8 October 1971.

Aaron's parents had emigrated from Mogilev, Russia (now Belarus). Rose and Aaron had two sons and one daughter. Rose died in Toledo, Ohio, on 31 January 2000.
- Naomi Cousin was born 21 March 1916 in Toledo, Ohio. She married Sherwin Kripke (born ~1914 in Michigan), and they had three sons. Naomi died on 20 July 2007 in Toledo, Ohio.

- Glika Kozhenetz was born in Trashkun in 1890. She was presumably killed in the Holocaust in 1941. According to the story passed down through the family, Glika was given to a non-Jewish family to hide during World War II, but the family turned her in and she was killed.
- Hertz (Tzvi) Kozhenetz (later Harry Cousin) was born in Trashkun on 5 August 1896. On 12 November 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, he married Sadie Raman or Riman (born in Lithuania 25 May 1900, died in Toledo, Ohio, 7 March 1968). Harry died in Toledo on 11 April 1971. On 20 April 1940 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, she married her first husband, Samuel (Sam) Tucker (born 23 July 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio). On 13 February 1943 in Lucas County, Ohio, Lillian married her second husband, Alfred (Asher) Ratkovitz (later Rayden), who was born 6 December 1904 in Cleveland, Ohio. Alfred died on 13 April 1972, and Lillian died on 22 January 1991, both in Toledo, Ohio.
- Ovsey Kozhenetz was born in 1871 in Vilkomir (Ukmerge) or Trashkun. Sometime before 1891 he married his first wife Sora (born 1874). - Joseph (Yosel Hirsh) Kozhenetz, later Kasenetz, was born in 1858 in Vilkomir (Ukmerge). In ~1879 he married Virginia Berman (born 1858). The family emigrated to the US in 1901. Virginia died on 12 March 1915, and Joseph died on 20 September 1832 in Brooklyn, New York.

Mariasha died in Trashkun the following year, 1907. Later in 1907 Ayzik married Mariasha's younger sister Chaya Beyla Kremer (born 1883 in Birzh). (Sam Kasnetz)
- Ovsey Shike Kozhenetz, later Sam Kasin, was born in Trashkun in August 1908. He was ~13 years old when his mother died. Since he had a problem with his eyes, he wasn't able to come to the US with his younger brother Khone. He eventually went to Saskatchewan, Canada, where he stayed until he could enter the US, using his brother's birth date and a different last name than his brother's. Shike/Sam married Hannah Kwash (born 19 March 1911). Sam died in August 1977, and Hannah died in December 1995, both in the US.

Khone Kozhenetz
(Conrad Kasnetz)
- Khone Kozhenetz, later Conrad Philip Kasnetz, was born in Trashkun on 11 January 1910. He was ~11 years old when his mother died. In 1927, at age 17, he went to New York to work in the grocery business of one of his uncles (his mother's brother). In the 1930s he went to Baltimore, Maryland, to work in his uncle Sam Kramer's dairy, delivering milk. He met Sophia in 1937 and they married on 19 February 1939. (Sophia was born in Baltimore on 24 May 1914.) Sophia died in December 1975, and Conrad Kasnetz died on 14 April 1986, both in Baltimore, Maryland.

- Beverly Kasnetz was born 31 December 1949. She married Brad Feig.
- Frida Kozhenetz was born in Trashkun on 20 July 1911. She married Berl Glezer (born 23 July 1905 in Trashkun). The couple survived World War II by fleeing east to Siberia (see Berl Glezer's memoir). After the war they returned to Lithuania and lived in Vilnius until 1990, when they moved to Israel, where Berl died on 19 December 1991 and Frida died on 6 October 2001.
