Links to towns in Lida Uezd:

Looking for a place in the area on a map? You can either enter the name of a town, or of a region. For the Lida region, select  nowogrodzkie, which brings up a page with a list. You can think of Gmina as being like townships. You can also expand the list for other localities than the township center with the show all places button. Ashmiany is listed under wilenski, and is spelled Oszmianski.

A comprehensive list of localities in Lida District  from the 1929 Polish business directory.

Radzima.org has many old and new photographs of the region. Click on ENG to switch to English first. Then click on  the country - most villages now in Belarus, but Eisiskes is in Lithuania. For Belarus, the villages are in the Grodna region. Most of them are in the Lida subdivision of Grodna, but some are in Ashmiany [indicated above]. After that, you're at the village level. Enjoy!
