Hi everybody,

Two new articles from Nachman Hofferman are already available on the "People Stories" section:

The first one, "Memories of a boy from Chechelnik" is a vivid portrait of the life in Chechelnik on early 20th century. A real pearl you cannot miss.

The second one is an anecdote about a particular incident during the turmoils of 1919.

I'm sure you'll enjoy both of them.

Hello everybody,

I'm glad to announce that the Chechelnik KehilaLink website has opened its eyes.

Please pay special attention to the great articles under the section "Life in Chechelnik":

- "The end of shtetl life" is an article about how, after 400 years of Jewish presence and after surviving the Shoah, Jewish life had almost disappeared in Chechelnik by 1991.
- "Chechelnik, my native place" is a vivid memory written by Alexander Vishnevetskiy of his days as a child in Chechelnik's ghetto.
- "Reconstructing history" tells the experience of Voldya Okhs on how was to research Jewish History in the Soviet Union.

There's still a lot of work to do and I expect that each one of you who have ancestors coming from Chechelnik will collaborate.
Indeed, there are sections dedicated to :
- images and pictures
- articles about the different sides of Chechelnik's life
- articles about stories from individuals or families
- a database with people information

You can propose your images, articles, document or people data to be published on the site. This will help to make it grow.
