WELCOME
to the website of the former Jewish community of Bollendorf, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.
This
website was created by the descendents of the members of that community to honor the memory of those killed by the Nazis and
to remember the life of a vibrant Jewish community that was extinguished during the Holocaust.
The diaspora of the Bollendorf Jewish community
now extends to France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, the United States, Canada and South Africa.
Together, we share in a common heritage. We hope you'll browse through the site and share in the memories and the descriptions
of life in Bollendorf before the war. You can find a map and photographs. They were given to us by several members
and you are all invited to send more photographs and information, for example letters or articles, to make the site more
complete and informative.
Acknowledgments:
Thanks to all who contributed texts and
photos to this site and expressed their interest and support. All of us in the Association are most grateful to Stefan Roos
who generously shared with us the information he has gathered on the Jewish communities of the Trier area. He remains
for us an invaluable resource and friend.
