Simon Family
(click on photos for larger versions)

The Simon Family was a large family from Niš. Of an extended family of almost one-hundred members,
fewer than five survived the Shoa!
Emil Lewinger's grand-aunt Debora, the twin sister of Emil's grandmother Streja, married Leon Medina,
the son of Klara Simon. Klara Simon was one of these survivors.

Both Klara and her husband made aliyah and died in Israel; they may have lived on Kibbutz Eilon, in the
North of Israel.

Here is the Simon family (probably in 1895):

  • Isak M Šimon , household head, age 50
  • Mazal wife age 35
  • Leon son age 17
  • Ester daughter age 14
  • Buena daughter age 12
  • Sinjora daughter age 10
  • Klara daughter age 8
  • Moša son age 7
  • Èelebon son age 3
  • Vinezja mother age 96
