Russia began compiling revision lists ("Revizskie Skazki," singular is "Revizskaya Skazka") in 1719. These census-like population counts were used to levy poll taxes and to identify males for the military. They continued intermittently through the 18th and 19th centuries. These counts were compiled on a district (uyezd or powiat)-wide basis. They include records for residents of the major towns (and many minor towns) of the district. The records including information about the household makeup, including gender, age and relationships of the household individuals. You can read more about revision lists here.
While Russia created its first lists in 1719-1721, Mlynov did not become part of Russia until 1792-95. So far the 1850 and 1858 are the only Revision Lists located by researchers so far.
The above aphabetical listing of the surnames in the 1850 revision list is provided for quick reference. The revision list groups members by household units and assigns a numerical value to each household. There are 48 identified household or family units. The logic of the numberical order is not apparent from the list; it is neither organized by size of the household unit or alphabetical. It seems possible that the order follows some geographical layout of the town, but that is not certain.
In the original Russian revision list, male and female names were listed in separate columns. AS a result, names of males from more than one household could often be sequential followed by names of females on the opposite column or page. To make it easier to see and undertand the household unit as a whole in this translation, the females have been listed together with and just below the males in the same household. Households may be small, such as a husband and wife, or quite large including sons, brothers, wives, and children. Sometimes siblings live in the same household and sometimes they appear to head separate households.
In most cases, household members have a single surname though there are some instances where a nephew is living in the household and has a different surname (e.g. the son of a sister). There are several instances as well where individuals with the same surname live in different households. For example, there are two households with the family name Gruber, 3 with the family name Nudler, and 3 with the family name Gelbarg. It is not self-evident whether these separate households with the same family name are relatives or just families with the same name, though comparisons among such households in the same revision and over time can often produce reasonable hypotheses about their relationships.

yes | 1 | Nudler | Mordko | Zelik | 1820 | 1820 | 1834 | 14 | 1850 | 30 | head of family | male |
Analysis: This is one of 3 Nudler households in this 1850 revision (#1, #24, #34). There is no explicit familial relationship evident among them, though it is possible that familial relationship is just no longer evident. There is a later Nudler family from Mlynov that may have been descended from ancestors in one of these households, but there is no direct connection identifiable.
Here Mordko son of Zelik, age 30, is head of the family and living alone. He was born in 1820. He has a number of family members with him in 1858.

Analysis: The head of household, Yankel son of Mordko-Fayvish (also called "Yankel Mordko Faivishev"), died in 1848 at the age of 42. His widow, Khvulya-Rukhlya, age 41 is still present in the household. Two of their sons, Abram-Ber, age 17, and Yankel, age 15 and a daughter Milka, age 8, are part of the household.
It appears that Rose Lerner and David Cooperstein who married into the Wurtzel family, were from this Kipperstein family.

Analysis: Ios son of Wolf (also called "Ios Wolfov") age 56 is head of the household. His younger wife, Zlata, age 38 is present along with two sons, Nuta-Bir, age 25, and Lemel, age 18 and a daughter, Rezlya, age 12. The older children may have been too old to be Zlata's children, though she is listed as their mother. She would have been 13 when Nuta-Bir was born.
Nuta-Bir is married to Ruhklya, age 24, and they have a daughter Sura-Hana, age 5. As discussed in the 1858 revision, Nuta-Bir is likely the Nuta-Bir remembered by the Berger descendants from Mlynov.

yes | 5 | Korotky | Dvoira | not indicated | – | 1814 | 1834 | not indicated | 1850 | 36 | wife | Shlema-Aizik Yankel-Berkov | female |
Analysis: This is a Weizer household, but relatives from the Korotky family live with them. This is the second of two Weizer households in the 1850 revision (#5, #16). It appears the two heads of household are brothers, both sons of Yudko and born in 1795 and 1797 respectively.
Gersh Weizer son of Yudko (also called "Gersh Yudkov"), age 53, is head of the family and is married to Freema, age 51. A son Ide-Bir died in 1836 at the age of 6. Another son, Aron-Moshko, was born two years later and is now 12. A daughter, Pesya, is also age 12.
A nephew of Gersh Yudkov named El Korotky was previously part of the household, but died in 1836 at the age of 27. We can assume that El's mother was probably a sister of Gersh Yudkov and had the surname of Weizer at birth. El's widow is not listed and one of his sons, Yankel, "escaped" in 1840 at the age of 8. He must have fled from conscription.
El's brother and brother's family are still in the household: Shlema-Aizik, is age 37, his wife Dvoira, age 36, and two sons, Yankel-Chaim, age 14 and Shimon, age 10.
[1] The Korotky and Weizer families were combined into a single household. El Korotky was a nephew of Gersh Yudko Weizer. ↩

Analysis: This Wieder household includes the family of a nephew with the surname Maizlish. Here, Duvish-Wolf Wieder son of Ovshy (also called "Duvid-Wolf Ovshiev") is 35 and head of the household. His wife Gitlya is 28 and they have three sons, Ios age 15, Berko age 11, and Srul age 7. They also have two daughters, Hantsya age 4 and Pesya, 4 months old.
Gersh-Wolf Maizlish, a nephew of Duvid-Wolf Ovshiev, is 42 and also living in the household with his family. We can assume that Gersh-Wolf's mother was probably a sister of Duvid-Wolf Wieder. Gersh-Wolf is married to Charna, age 40 and they have two sons, Moshko-Mendel, age 19, and Itsko, age 12.
[2] In the 1858 revision list, she is listed as Itta. ↩
[3] The Maizlish and Wieder families were combined into a single household. Gersh-Wolf Maizlish was a nephew of Duvid-Wolf Ovshiev. ↩

Analysis: Yos-Gersh son of Zelik (also called "Ios-Gersh Zeylikov") passed away in 1935 at the age of 56. He was born in 1779 and would have lived through the Partitions of Poland that brought Mlynov into the hands of Tsarist Russa. A son Khaim-Nuta age 30 is now the eldest male in the house. His wife Pesya is 32 and they have a son Yos-Gersh, age 2, and two daughters, Leya, age 12, and Malka age 7.

Analysis: This is a large household. Gersh-Itsko son of Moshko (also called "Gersh-Itsko Moshkov"), age 41, is head of household and is married to Genya-Ginda, age 41. They have two sons and two daughters listed. One son, Mordko, is 25 and present in the household. The other son, Michel, was "on the run" in 1844 at the age of 13. The two daughters Surah, age 12, and Baba, age 6 are both in the household. Their son Morko is himself married to Freida, age 24, a daughter Malka, age 10.
Two of Gersh-Itsko's brothers are also listed. His brother Itsko is 39 and is married to Frida, age 39 and they have a son, Yankel-Yudko, age 9 and a daughter Esther, age 15. Another brother of Gersh-Itsko, Moshko, escaped in 1844 at the age of 12, probably implying he somehow escaped conscription.

Analysis: Very little information is listed about Moshko-Bir Tetelboym and it is not clear he is still in town in 1850. He disappears completely by the 1858 revision, though there is a distinct similarity in name with the man called Moshko-Ber Tetelboym son of Vol (household #50 in 1858) and perhaps there is a relationship.

Analysis: Shimon-Gersh son of Michel (also called "Shimon-Gersh Mikhelev"), age 34, is head of the family. He is married to Milikha, age 28. He has a son, Yudko, age 13. It is not clear if Yudko's mother is Milikha since she is not listed as his female relative and she would have been young (age 15) when he was born. Milikha is listed as the mother of Shimon-Gersh's two daughters, Surah, age 10, and Enta, age 6.
Shimon-Gersh also has two brothers listed. One brother, Huna, escaped in 1845 at the age of 18. The other brother Surl-Moshko is 29. He is married to Haya-Hana, age 25. They have no children listed.

There is no explicit familial relationship between them, though their proximity in the revision to each other suggests there may have been some relationship mayexist farther back in time that is no longer apparent.
The surname of this household is Gruberr but becomes Gruber in 1858. Here, Moshko-Leib also called Srul-Noeh, is 26, head of household and married to Sura, age 24. They have a daughter Rivka, age 8, and a son Mordko, age 4.
As discussed in more detail in the 1858 analysis, this Rivka Gruber appears to be the woman remembered as the ancestress of the Demb/Gruber descendants in Mlynov.

Analysis: This is the second and larger of two sequential Gruber households in this revision (#12, #13). As noted previously, there is no explicit familial relationship between them, though their proximity in the revision to each other suggests there may have been some relationship farther back in time that is no longer apparent.
In this 1850 revision, the surname "Huber" is listed for the males and "Gruber" for the females. Not too much should be made of this fact since we find H and G interchanges in family names later (e.g. Helman/ Gelman and Goldseker/Holtzeker), which may reflect the fact that the ancestor of slavic language had a g phoneme but no "h." In any case, by 1858, this whole household is consistently called Gruber.
The head of this large household is Shimon son of Mendel (also called "Shimon Mendelev"), 61 years old. One of the oldest living members of the community, he was born before Mlynov became part of Russia in the Second Partition of Poland in 1793. His wife, Haya-Beila, is 61. Three sons are listed, as well as a number of daughter-in-laws and grandchildren.
The mother of Shimon's sons is probably his wife Haya-Beila, but their mother's name is not listed under the female relative column (though the revisions seem to be inconsistent in capturing this information). Shimon's son, Aizik El, is 37. He is married to Hava, age 36, and they have three daughters, Basia, age 10, Feiga, age 5, and Rukhlya, age 2. Another one of Shimon's sons, Mendel-Itsko, was recruited in 1841 at the age of 23. A third son, Moshko-Aron, age 28 is married to Gitlya, age 26 and they have three daughters, Dina, age 6, Dvoira age 3, and Enta age 1.

Analysis: The head of the household, Michel-Leib son of Noech (also called "Mikhel-Leib Noekh") died in 1840 at the age of 47. His widow, Itta, age 40, is still present in the household and is quite a bit younger than he was. He was born in 1793 and she was 17 years younger and born in 1810. She is listed as the mother of his sons, though their ages suggest she may not have been. The oldest son, Noech-Moshko, is 29 (Itta would have been 11 years old when he was born). The other son, Levi-Itsko, is 26. He is married to Pesya, age 28, though they do not have any children listed.

Analysis: The head of household, Sender Gersh son of Litman (also called "Sender-Gersh Litmanov"), died in 1843 at age 51. His widow is not in the household. His son, Berko, was on the run three years later in 1846 at the age of 33. Another son, Gershon age 31, is present and is married to Tahid, age 28. They have a son Tsal, age 15, and a daughter Hava, age 7.

Analysis: This is the second of two Weizer households in the 1850 revision (#5, #16). It appears the two heads of household are brothers, both sons of Yudko and born in 1795 and 1797 respectively.
Here, Ios son of Yudko (also called "Ios Yudkov"), age 55, is head of the household and one of the older members of the community. He is married to Risya, age 36. They have a son, El, age 12, and three daughters, Yahna age 15, Liba age 6, and Dvoira age 3.

Analysis: Itsko-Srul son of Leib (also called "Itsko-Srul Leibov") age 32 is head of the household. He is married to Hena, age 30 and has a son, Leib, age 15. Analysis: Meer son of Haim (also called Meer Khaimov) died in 1846 at the age of 69. His widow is not listed. We don't know whether she died or joined another household. Three sons of Meer are listed: Lazor's whereabouts have been unknown since 1850 when he was 43. Still in the household, though, is his wife, Menya 42, and a son Itsko, age 16. A second son, Rakhmiel, age 34, is still present in the household. He is married to Rivka and they have two daughters, Hana-Maria age 8, and Elka age 4.
The household members also include two of Rakhmiel's sisters who are not married: Riva-Leia, age 25, and Mintsya, age 15. It is not entirely clear why they are listed as "sisters" of Rakhmiel rather than daughters of Meer, since he is listed as their father. Perhaps, because Meer has died, the census takers want to "attach" thse young women to the oldest male in the household.
Meer has one other son listed: Abram was recruited in 1846 at the age of 19. That is the same year Meer died and we can guess that his father's death made him more vulnerable to recruitment to fill quotas.

Analysis: Usher son of Itsko (also called "Usher Itskov") died in 1840 at the age of 42. His wife, Zlata, age 42 is still present in the household. Two children of Usher are listed. A son, Itsko, age 30 who is married to Blima age 30. A second son, Gersh, was recruited in 1839 at the age of 12. Zlata is explicitly identified as his mother, but no mother's name is given for the older son Itsko.

His wife, Golda-Perlya, is listed as if she is present in this revision of 1850 but her age is not given and she disappears completely by 1858. A son of theirs, Ios, age 8 is also in household.
[5] The males seems to be aligned with Braiser, the females with Brayer.

Analysis:
This is one of 3 Nudler households in this 1850 revision (#1, #24, #34). There is no explicit familial relationship evident among them, though it is possible that a familial relationship is just no longer evident. There is a later Nudler family from Mlynov that may have been descended from ancestors in one of these households, but there is no direct connection identifiable.
Here, Yankel Moshko son of Duvid Gershko (also called "Yankel Moshko Duvid Gershkov") is 29 and head of the family. He was born in 1821 about the same time as head of Nudler household #1. He is married to Sura Beila, age 28 and they have a son, Gersh-Leib who is age 8.

Analysis: The head of household, Abram son of Duvid (also called "Abram Duvidov") died in 1846 at the age of 44. A son, Ioina-Ios, age 24 is the oldest male in the household and is married to Hana-Rivka (also spelled Khana-Rivka), age 22. They have a young son, Moshko-Gersh, age 4 years old.
There is also an unmarried daughter of Abram, the deceased head of household. Her name is Pesya and she is 18 years old. Finally, there is young girl, Fryadya age 12, who is called the sister of Ioina-Ios. It is not entirely clear why Fryadya is called "the sister" of Ioina-Ios while his other sister, Pesya, is defined by her relationship to her father. This could be due to inconsistency in how the revision takers record information or possibly because Pesya is 18, she is not defined in relationship to her brother whereas Fryadya is still 12 and more of a minor.

Analysis: There are two Gelbarg households in the 1850 revision (#26, #48). There is no obvious familial relationship between them, though some connection could have existed further back in time. By 1858, the second of these households is called "Gelberg."
Here, Ios son of Fayvish (also called "Ios Faivishev") is head of household and age 46. His wife Henya or Genya is quite a bit younger, only age 25. It seems likely that she is a second wife, though she is listed as the mother of the children. The son, Pinhos-Meer, is 21 and obviously Henya could not be his mother. She would have been 4 when he was born. The same is true for the two daughters, Hana, age 18, and Surah, age 15.
As discussed in detail in the 1858 census, the son Pinhos-Meer is very likely the ancestor remembered by the Gelberg family that settled in Jersey City and the ancestor of the mill owner in Mlynov remembered by descendants and in the Memorial book.

Analysis: This is a Scwhartzman household and includes a nephew with the surname Firer. Ios son of Berko Schwartzman (also called "Ios Berkov") is 57 and head of household. No wife is listed. His eldest son, Borukh-Mordko, age 31, is married to Tsivya, age 30, and they have a son, Rockel, age 8. Ios's other son, Gersh, died in 1836 at the age of 12.
A nephew, Gersh Firer son of Itsko, is 27 and in the household as well. We can assume that Gersh Firer's mother was a sister of Ios, the head of household, and had married a man named Itsko with the surname Firer. There is no explicit familial relationship between Gersh Firer here and the members of the Firer household #43 below. Gersh here is the son of Itsko Firer and was born in about 1823. The head of household #43 is Naftula Itsko son of Berko who was born in 1787. It is possible Gersh is related but that is speculation.

Their son Shimon-Meer, is age 35, and married to Nehama, age 34. No children are listed for them. The son Beniamin is age 30. He is married to Silka, age 28 and they have a son Mordko-Ios, 4 years old.
A third son of Moshko-Bir and Chaya-Malka named Iovel, is 23 years old. He is probably married to Yahna, age 23, who is said to be married to Zavel Moshko-Birov. There is no "Zavel" son of Moshko-Bir in this list and it seems likely "Zavel" was another name for Iovel.
It is surprising that there are no grandchildren listed. Indeed from the 1858 list, it is clear some grandchildren were already born. Perhaps they were not listed intentionally to avoid some additional obligation like taxes.

Analysis: As noted in the discussion of household #8, this household and its members are listed twice in this revision under slightly different names. There under "Lehman," and here under "Hehman." We don't know if the duplication was by accident or for some reason. Here Yos-Bir son of Ovshy is whereabouts unknown as opposed to "On the run" in household #8. His son, Chaim-Zus, is here age 24 instead of 23 in the other household. As discussed in the 1858 revision for household #9, this household may be the ancestors of the Schuchman family remembered from a later period in Mlynov. See the discussion, in the 1858 household #9.

↩
Analysis: The head of the household, Mordko-Leib son of Itsko ("Mordko-Leib Itskov") died in 1848 at the age of 30. His widow, Pesya, age 28 is still present along with their two sons, Michel, age 16, and Mordko-Leib, age 8, and a daughter, Golda, age 6.

↩
Analysis: There is no obvious familial connection between this household and the Gelbarg household #26, though it is possible they have a connection farther back in time.
Haim-Leib son of Moshko-Vol (also called "Khaim-Leib Moshko-Volev") age 42 is head of the household. A brother, Boruch Gersh, died in 1846 at the age of 33. His young widow, Khina, age 20 is still in the household. Her age suggests she is not the mother of Khaim-Leib's three daughters and son, even though she is listed as their mother. The son, Mordko is 10, and the three daughters are Etya, age 15, Eidlya age 12 and Tsivya age 7.
