The most extensive account of the history of Nikolsburg and of persons in Nikolsburg for whom a record could be found, was written by Bruno Mauritz Trapp and published in Brünn (Brno in the Czech Republic) in 1929 as part of Hugo Gold's monumental work on the Jewish Communities of Moravia (Die Juden und Judengemeinden Mährens in Vergangenheit und Gegenwart). This book can be obtained by interlibrary loan in most places. The following is an index to the 861 separate references to named persons in Nikolsburg in Trapp's text, covering the period from the mid 16th century to the early 20th century. The table contains surname, first name, the year for which they are referred to in the text, a word indicating the context in which the reference occurs, and, most importantly, the page number of the reference in the book published as above.
PLEASE NOTE: The table is organized alphabetically by surname. However, persons with the same surname are not listed alphabetically according to their first names; instead they are given in order of the year for which they are mentioned.
