Searchable Databases

• JewishGen Family Finder (JGFF). You have to be a member of Jewishgen to use any of their databases (it's free).
• Family Tree of the Jewish People
• BelarusSIG Database
• LitvakSIG's All-Lithuania Database -  under the Tsars, Lida Uezd was governed out of Vilnius, so many old Lida area records are in the LIthuanian National Archives. Records are translated with donated funds. Donors of $100 or more get a spreadsheet with newly-translated records, which are also added to a database  to which donors get access. Two years after translation, records are moved to the All-Lithuania Database

• Jewish Burial Societies in the New York City area. To search, pull down "Databases" from navigation bar across the top, and select. When you search by town, the town names used are those from the JewishGen Townfinder/Communities Database.

• Database of old postcards. It's in Polish. This link is to the home page. It's a hard to navigate: I have difficulty getting back to photos I know are there. The best way to get hits if you don't know Polish is to click on 'Mapa' in the Menu bar. This brings up a map, with little squares wherever there are images. If the town's not named, just mouse over the mystery square and the town name will pop up, as will thumbnails of the linked images. These will be across the bottom of your screen. Once you click on one image, it will come up on your screen. Do not use the < > arrows in either of the two places they appear - they send you to random places. Stick with the thumbnails in the image you got after clicking on the place name.
