Jewish Cemeteries of Tbilisi

Gravestone

 There are three Jewish cemeteries in Tbilisi:

Old cemetery of the Georgian Jews (closed to new burials):  Ortachala Jewish Cemetery

New cemetery of the Georgian Jews: Varketili Jewish Cemetery (Dampalo)

Ashkenazi Jewish cemetery (closed to new burials):  Navtlugi Jewish Cemetery

Many renowned personalities from Jewish Diaspora were buried here.

Memorial plaque on the administrative building of the Navtlugi Cemetery (in Russian):

  This building and the fence of the cemetery was constructed in 1897 with money bequeathed by Abram Torner.
