Valea lui Mihai Family Photographs

To be inclusive, we contacted all of the Valea lui Mihai researchers willing to be contacted listed in JewishGen (as of 15 January 2009). We asked each person contacted for family photographs or anything else to make these Valea lui Mihai shtetl web pages in JewishGen's KehilaLinks more interesting for all current and future researchers. Our sincere appreciation is expressed to all who responded.

Following you will find images of Jewish families that once lived in Valea lui Mihai. In some cases, the images you see survived the Holocaust only because they were mailed to relatives in the United States and elsewhere or they were held by non-Jewish friends in Valea lui Mihai during the war and retrieved by survivors after the war.

Click HERE to contact me if you have any questions or a photohraph to contribute.

Family history: I am Yishay Shmuel (Tiberiu) ROTH, grandson of Chaya Rivka WEINBERGER. I was born at her house, but now live in Israel. My grandfather, Shmuel WEINBERGER was killed in World War I as an Hungarian soldier, therefore his family was not deported during World War II. My uncle, Yechezkel WEINBERGER, was married and his family was deported. He joined his family, hoping to save them, but the whole family was killed. My grandmother left to Israel in 1951, 3 months after my birth, with Margit who was single.
