All useful contributions and constructive criticism is appreciated! Genealogy Researchers in Hungary Some fine genealogists with a specialty in Hungary, because they live
there, are the following people who have already helped many people
with their research. They are just listed in alphabetical order.
Andras is a retired diplomat/communication professional/editor
and was engaged in business promotion for more than forty years. As one
of the founding members he joined the Hungarian Society For Family Research in 2013. In his own words: "Last year I set up a Jewish Genealogical Working Group within the
Society. The Group does not have a separate website but we
have a discussion forum .
The Group is also open for non-Society members, applications should be
sent to zsidogenealogia@macse.hu. Applicants will have access to the
Forum and the associated MS Excel file, in which they can circulate
their inquiries and list surnames and locations of special interest. As for Tolcsva, I have no particular expertise but as a fairly
experienced indexer I shall be pleased to transcribe BMD registers if
the need arises."
Who researches Hungarian ancestry and is available to conduct tours.
Agnes is a librarian and historian, who lives in Budapest, and works in the library of the Jewish University. Agnes says, "Our foundation (Tiszafüredi Menóra Alapítvány) renovated and cared
the Jewish cemetery of Tiszafüred. (The distance beetween Tiszafüred and
Tolcsva is 139 km.)" Agnes actually has family connections to Tolcsva.
