| Poruba pod Vihorlátom was under the jurisdiction of the Michalovce rabbinate and, by 1941, had a synagogue and a mikvah. While Poruba pod Vihorlátom had only a lay leader, a rabbi was invited to officiate during the High Holidays. |

| The synagogue was burned to the ground by the Germans on 3 November 1944. Today, a warehouse occupies the former synagogue property. A portion of the original stone wall of the synagogue is shown in one of the following images. |
