Education

In the pre-War era, there were three different grade schools in Chynadiyovo. There was the Ukrainian school, the German Schwabian school, and the Czech school. Jews attended the Czech school. The Czech High School building was a modern building with running water and toilets.

There was a cheder located in the synagogue. There were three or four rooms, and each room had 10-20 kids. The boys went to cheder both before and after public school. The parents had to buy the kids books for learning Hebrew and Jewish texts. The cheder instructors were usually teenager Yeshiva students. They were hosted by local Jewish families who fed them and gave them a place to sleep..
