Schulster Family

Tzirl Weintraub and Yitzak Schulster, c.1900, probably in Rohatyn

Not too much is known about Tzirl and Yitzhak Schulster, only that they had 6 children.  The oldest was Selig Asher Schulster  who left Bukachevtsy around 1890 when he married and moved to his wife's home town, Bobrka.  He is seen here in a picture taken in Bobrka in 1903.

One of Tzirl and Yitzhak's daughters, Ciwie, married a Weintraub, perhaps a cousin, and raised a family in Bukachevtsy.  Ciwie died in the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918 and her family moved to New York after World War I..  One of her daughters, Sara, is pictured here in New York in the late 1930s or early 1940s.

Of the other four of Tzirl and Yitzhak's children, one immigrated to New York with her musician husband before 1910, one son went to Canada with his wife, one daughter went to Linz, then Lviv and perished in the Holocaust, and one son stayed in Bukachevtsy and also perished with his whole family in the Holocaust.
