Sidney studied architecture at UCT and practiced in Cape Town before leaving for the USA in 1961 to study City Planning at MIT.
In 2013 he retired as Professor Emeritus in the Urban Studies and Planning program at the University of Maryland, College Park. After retirement he engaged in weaving and ceramics. His wife Cynthia (née Jawitz, originally from Cape Town) is an artist. Sidney passed away on October 8th, 2020.
Hazel qualified as a nursery school teacher at Barkly House in Cape Town. Hazel and husband Hilly Greenstein and family immigrated to Baltimore where they were reunited with Sidney Brower and his family as well as to pursue business interests.
Mimmie died in 1984 and is buried in Cape Town. After her death Charlie moved to Baltimore, where he died in 1985 and is buried.
