Israel
Atlas, born in Beisegola, married in 1890 Miriam Minde, daughter of
Tanchum
Maisel and his first wife Mera. The young couple lived in Pakruojis , next door
to the Maisels’ nowadays brick corner house at the Dariaus ir Gireno gatve.
Israel
and Miriam Minde had 5 children, four of them died in their early childhood.
Their daughter Golda Frieda was the only child left. She was born in 1898 and in
1922 she married Moshe Baruch Morgenstern, who came from
Belarus
. Their daughter Minde was born in
1923 in
Pakruojis. In 1925 Israel Atlas, the young couple ( the parents of
Rahel
Morgenstern) Moshe and Golda Frieda and their child Minde
emigrated to South Africa.
