DNA Studies |
|
The Kotlowitz family has
been identified as Haplotype G-M201 (formerly G2b2) at
Y-111 markers. This is a relatively rare genetic type but
has revealed a 110 marker match with Howard Wolinsky (of
no known relation or common location). There is also a 67
marker match with descendants of the Zacuto family
(associated with Christopher Columbus) which are currently
being studied. This result implies Sephardic origins. DNA
testing is encouraged for other Orlya families. |
