The Babi Yar memorial was erected in memory of those murdered by the Nazis at Babi Yar, 1941- 1943.
During the two days of 29-30 September 1941, 33,771 Jews were shot in the Babi Yar Ravine.
Altogether, the Nazis murdered 300,000 Jews and Gypsies at Babi Yar.
