While Aurice and Tom Weiss were taking pictures of gravestones and recording the information, Alex Duani was trying to identify sites in Buchach seen in aerial photographs taken in 1944. I had given Alex the aerial photograph and he stopped several Buchach citizens who were passing by the cemetery. In this picture there are four citizens, including Vladimir Boychuk who is standing alone on the left, peering at the photograph spread out on the hood of a jeep parked across the street from the cemetery. The discussions and arguments to identify the sites became quite lively and, at one time, there were as many as 5 citizens involved in figuring out the photograph.
