The building with white roof and two chimneys David KESSLER's shop. He was listed in the business directory as a smithy or metal worker. He was a Master in his trade and he and his family were sent to the Uzhhorod getto in May, 1944. In the small house behind the shop, and closer to the railroad, lived the BERKOVICH family. The house next to the shop was the KESSLER family house. The big house on the right side of the picture belonged to the MERMELSTEINS. This part of the village was located between a curve in the river and the railroad. The BERKOVICH house is still standing today. |
