Stretch of road through Stara Skala (Old Skala), with the ruins of the Turkish castle in the background. The road goes northwest and leads through the villages of Burdiakowce and Losiacz to Czortkow (Chortkov), the latter being the largest municipal town and Jewish center in the area and the seat of the Chortkover Rebbe. This photograph was taken in 1931. |
