house 9Here, before 1941 was the shoe shop belonging to
the Jewish family Kirpitsjnikas.
Today not any trace left, but Marija remembers very well,
her mother bought her in this shop a pair of beautiful red shoes and
she was delighted about it. These shoes were so amazingly beautiful!
Kirpitsjnikas tried to escape the Germans by converting to
Catholicism, but finally he was caught and shot. The doctor,
Paturskis,
did the same, but he suffered the same destiny as Kirpitsjnikas
did.
We pass the former house of Kirpitsjnikas and we continue
our walk straight ahead.
