Odessa Fond 359 - Jewish Head of HouseholdThis Collection is a transcription of the Odessa Jewish Head of Household (1893-1916) from Odessa Office for Small Business
The original source of the dataset (in Russian, compiled by Liliya Belousova and Tatiana Volkova in 1999) was found here in 2012.
The original dataset was first automatically transliterated by Ariel Parkansky in 2012, then translated, corrected and completed by Bena Shklyanoy in 2013.
The original dataset contains 4505 records. As many of those records point to different locations, in our database a record has been created for each location, augmenting the number to 5286.
The original documents that are in the Odessa State Archives include additional information about each family.
NOTE: Archive reference may consist of up to 4 components: F (fond), Op (opis = Inventory/inv), D (delo = file), L (list = page)
List consists of front and back of the sheet. References may use 'ob' (oborot) to indicate that data appears on the back.
Translate ob as back, for ex. L874ob = P874back. If no 'ob' it is assumed the data is on the front or the front and back.
NOTE: The Russian word meshchanin translates as townsman, or more properly, in the 19th century Russian Empire, as lower middle class. During Soviet Russia times it came to mean petty bourgeois Document List No image of documents available, please go to the AODB Home Page and search the records database
