Early Jewish immigrants to the United States that once lived in Bereg megye (county), Hungary, in the town and areas surrounding Munkács, established The First Bereg-Munkatsher Society in New York City, NY. |

The society is a landmanschaft¹ with offices and today, its main function is as a burial society. We have requested on several occasions that the society provide us with information that will help family researchers learn more about their families and ancestors. They have remained silent.
