Lyubar - urban settlement, is the center of the Lyubar district in the Zhitomir oblast' 1), Ukrainian SSR. It is situated by the river Sluch' (in the Pripyat' basin), 25km from the Pechanovka railroad station on the Berdichev-Shepetovka line. As of 1953, there are elementary, middle and 7-grade schools. There is a Culture House, and two libraries. There is a butter producing factory there. Wheat and sugar beets are cultivated in the Lyubar Rajon; livestock is produced there as well. There are three Equipment-and-Tractor Repair facilities, a Hydro-Electric Plant shared by several collective farms, a hop-refinery, and a Junior Veterinary College.
