Post-war Biography (Windisch)

The accused, whose life to the war’s end consisted solely of party activity and was completely adapted to its mode of action, could not find his way professionally after the war, and had, therefore, a rather erratic employment history.

On release from imprisonment, he alleges to have worked 6 months in agriculture, and then 2 years at various American offices in Austria as assistant, interpreter, and warehouse clerk.  Vol 1 p 100, vol 17 p 2435

Thereafter, according to him, he was for a short time employed at the regional government in Linz, and from 1949 director of  the adjustments division of a Zurich insurance company.  Vol 1 p 100 f.

In 1956 he moved back to West Germany, to Maniz, and was in the ensuing years employed at numerous firms in the insurance department and as real estate salesman.  Vol 1 p 1010, vol 17 p 2435, BA LG Mainz 1 R 189/64 p 2, 22 f

The accused often changed jobs.  First he worked on commission for “D A S”, then for “ARAG”, later for the railway insurance fund.  Finally he tried to build up a plastics business.  When this failed, he returned to insurance and was for a time Organizational Director at the “Krankenversicherung AG” and then on commission at the life insurance company of the Raiffeisenversicherung.

From 1962 to 1964 he was agent at a realtor in Kaiserlautern.  In early 1964 he attended a course on union social work and from May to June 1964 he was again in realty.  From June 1964 to his arrest on 9 November 1964, he was accountant at Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz in Mainz-Mombach.  In addition the accused also worked for “Dt. Herold”, “Braunschweigische Vers. Ges.”, and “ARAG”.  BA 1 R 189/64 LG Mainz p 23, vol 7 p 1010

The accused makes no secret that he was once a confirmed national socialist, and is still one today.  Vol 7 p 1010, vol 18 – 2501

In the Republic of Germany  he has repeatedly appeared as speaker at conventions of the DRP [Deutsche Reichspartei], he also participated in the DRP meetings at the pub “Mainzer Rad”.  At an election meeting of the DRP on 1 November 1958 in Gross-Umstadt, at which the accused was a speaker, he referred in a review on the German Question after 1945 to the “achievements” of the Third Reich and made “Catholicism” and Judaism responsible for the “disastrous German post-war politics”.  P 4 & 7 of BA 2 Js 243/59 pol StA Darmstadt

Furthermore, Windisch acknowledges frankly to have been an “opponent” of the Jews from way back.  He reaches his peak with the assertion that “World Jewry” was responsible for the outbreak of World War II, and is therefore responsible for “delivering up” the Eastern Jews.  As in his opinion “World Jewry” declared war on Germany in 1940, the “Eastern Jews” who came under German domination were “hostages for the Western Jews”  vol 7 p 1054, 1050, 2458
