Dov Ber Niman and (1832-1914)
and his son, Chatzkel Niman, were from Aniksht, just outside Kupiskis
but moved to Kupiskis shortly before emigrating to Worcester, Massachusetts
in 1899. He was poor, became a peddler in Worcester, and had five
children, all of whom migrated to Worcester in the 1880s and 1890's.
Dov Ber outlived three
of his children. His eldest son, Chatzkel, (1857-1909) married Frieda
Kling (1861-1921), from Vabalninkas, and they had all of their five
children in Kupiskis, before emigrating. In Worcester, he became a
peddler like his father.
