Irshava Holocaust

The day after Passover 5704 (16 April 1944), the general roundup of all Irshava's Jews began.
They were all taken to the ghetto, where they cowered for a month or so and then were transported to Auschwitz.

To the holy community of Irshava (Ilosva) and its environs (in Carpathian-Rus') who were killed and cremated by the cruel Nazis and Hungarians, on 4 Sivan 5704, and in memory of all those who were killed and perished from hunger, illness and work in the slave labor camps in the years 5702-5705.

Association of Irshava's citizens in Israel and the diaspora.

At the base of the tablet, one reads roughly:

The tale of killing (or slaughter).
