“Noah and Fage Berman probably taken around 1890.  They arrived here in New York about 1895.  Noah became a wholesale merchant of bananas and had a series of storage (ripening areas) in basements on the Lower East Side. He was one of the founders and one of the early presidents of the First Horodenka Sick and Benevolent Society.”
