The Night of the Burning: Devorah's Story, by Linda Press Wulf, 2006.

True story of 11 year old Devorah and her little sister in 1920 who were the sole family survivors of a Cossack attack on Domachevo. They were taken by a South African philanthropist, Isaac Ochberg, to South Africa and adopted separately. Good description of Domachevo before World War I. Available from Amazon and other booksellers.
