Yona Sokol  (1880-1978) by Zina Sokol Hersh

 This is a short story was written by his daughter, Zina Sokol Hersh.  Yona had served as the President of the Boyerker Benevolent Society.

Stories of Boyarka

A memorial book about Hyman Kruglack, who was born in Boyarka, was written by his family and many friends. Hyman Kruglack: As We Knew Him, was published by Paul Katzeff, 1987. The book is 250 pages, and includes stories about Boyarka that were contributed by numerous people. It also contains photographs, and genealogy charts. This is a "must read" for descendants of the shtetl. On the link above, there are several excerpts from the book written by Hyman Kruglack, Elaine Kruglack Katzeff, Jean Weisser and Paul Katzeff.


A Brotherhood of Memory: Jewish Landsmanshaftn in the New World.  Michael R. Weisser. 1985. Basic Books, Inc., Publ., New York.

This is a book that should be read by all to really understand the roll of the landsmanshaftn in America. The book frequently references Boyarka, and the Boyerker Benevolent Society, as Michael is a descendant of the people of Boyarka. Chapter VIII, entitled "The Beautiful Young Women of Boyerke", is entirely about Boyerke and her people.
