Participate in & Support BIALYGen
BIALYGen is a cooperative effort of volunteers and researchers with a common interest in the Jewish history and culture of Bialystok and nearby towns and villages. Our success will depend on dedication and largess of family historians from around the world.
The three main objectives of BIALYGen are:
We will accomplish these objectives through:
BIALYGen needs the participation and support of members to accomplish these objectives. You can participate in many ways.
Become a Town Coordinator -- a person responsible for the content (not the creation) of a Town website. There are many examples within the JewishGen ShtetLinks website. Take a look at Andrew Blumberg's Bielsk Podlaski site for an example. The towns are identified in our Town web page. Please contact Mark Halpern to volunteer for a town.
Contribute Content for the BIALYGen Web Site. As you can see from the main content categories (above the JewishGen BIALYGen logo), there are many ways to contribute. If you have something of value, please submit the idea or the materials to Mark Halpern.
Help Develop and Maintain the BIALYGen Web Site. If you have HTML skills, please volunteer to help create and maintain this web site by contacting Mark Halpern.
Volunteer to Work on or Lead a Research Project. BIALYGen has a list of projects. Help complete those listed or create a new project. The only restrictions on projects are that they benefit many BIALYGen members and they not conflict with projects undertaken by JRI-Poland or Belarus SIG. To volunteer or to propose a project, please contact Sid Zabludoff.
Volunteer to be on the Translation Team. We need people who can translate the following languages to English -- Hebrew, Polish, Russian, Yiddish. If you have other language skills, let us know. Contact Mark Halpern to volunteer.
Donate to BIALYGen to Support Research Projects, Acquisition of and Translations of Materials. Your cash donations will provide funds to acquire genealogical data and research materials; to index records or cooperate with JRI-Poland or Belarus SIG in indexing projects; to translate acquired materials; and to support Yizkor Book projects.
Contributions can be made by credit card or check using the secure online Electronic Contribution Form through JewishGen-erosity. JewishGen is a US non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. Contributions by Americans to JewishGen are tax-deductible according to law.
The BIALYGen web site is hosted at no cost by JewishGen. To help support the infrastructure for the JewishGen website and the equipment and software that allow BIALYGen to have a discussion group and our own website, please consider an additional contribution to the JewishGen General Fund.
This research group, its mailing list, and this website are hosted by JewishGen, Inc. at no cost by JewishGen, Inc., the Home of Jewish Genealogy. If you have been aided in your research by this site and wish to further our mission of preserving our history for future generations, your JewishGen-erosity is greatly appreciated.
