Badalovo Holocaust

The day after Passover 5704 (16 April 1944), the general roundup of all Badalovo's Jews began. They were all taken to the ghetto, where they cowered for a month or so and then were transported to Auschwitz.

~ Badalovo Martyr Memorial ~
In April, 1992, a memorial was raised in the center of the village with the names of deported Jews in the Second World War and the next victims of Stalinist terror. Under the memorial plaque's list, the following quote is found: "The truth exalts a nation and sin is a shame for the people ..." — Proverbs 14:34
