Cotopaxi, 38° 22' 13" N / 105° 41' 17" W, Fremont County, about 125 miles SW of Denver, Colorado.  Take I-25 South to Hwy 115, South to Hwy 50 West.  Approximately 35 miles west of Canon City CO.

It is apparent that there are those who would rewrite the history of Cotopaxi, denying what happened, or adding to it.  Documents that were recorded between 1882 and 1900, newspaper stories, and stories written during that time period have more value than anything written since.  Always apply the heaviest weight to the oldest documents when verifying oral history.
