At the right of the synagogue there is a brooklet with streaming water. The mikveh, the ritual Jewish bathhouse, was at the bank of this brooklet (small river). The building doesn’t exist anymore, but it was to be found in the right corner of this photo. For general information see here.

The small bridge behind the synagogue is still to be seen.

The synagogue was built amidst the Jewish Community and it formed the heart of this community . All kinds of  houses were grouped around the synagogue. A beautiful sight, something for a film….
