Krasnoye is in Podolia. According to the Brockhaus-Efron Jewish Encyclopedia, in 1847, there were 1747 Jews. In 1897, out of 2844 total inhabitants, Krasnoye had 2590 Jews. In 1895, there were four prayer houses and a synagogue (unclear what the difference is). In 1910, there was a Talmud Torah.
