Wagner Family
Top left: Fajga (my grandmother), Joshe (Joseph), Frieda (nee Wagner) Pupiski, Shlomo Pupiski.
Bottom left: Ruchla, Hirsch, Abraham-Adam, Rajzel.

This was probably taken before 1939.

It is still unclear how Abraham Wagner died but that probably happened in 1939.

Rajsel was arrested for "communist acts" and was informed on as a Jewess by a Polish seamstress that used to do some work for the family. She was tortured by the Gestapo in Lublin and left to die in the Zamek there.
The seamstress also informed on her mother Ruchla and youngest brother – Hirsch. Both were sent to death camps or killed immediately.

Joshe's first wife and sons were murdered and he managed to hide until the war ended.
After the war he married Hanna nee Aizner from Sobieska Wola who also lost all of her first family – husband and 2 children.
Frieda (nee Wagner) & Shlomo Pupiski with their daughter Edith hid part of the time and lived under false papers when they could.

Fajga (nee Wagner) & Joel Gewircman with daughter Sara born in 1941 also lived under false papers having many close calls including an arrest of Fajga & Sara by the Lublin Gestapo to identify Rajsel. Fajga waited for a chance and leaped out of the window with 1 year old Sara tied to her. She never saw her younger sister and brother or her mother again.

The three older siblings made it to Israel in 1949 after many years in deportee camps.
