Prypeci z lewej strony, przy 1 małym trakcie
wiodącym z Łojowa, Brahina, Chojnik do
Mozyrza, w malowniczej miejscowości położone.
Jezuici litewscy mieli tu swoją misyą od roku
1726 i zbudowali wspaniałą świątynię. Po
jezuitach byli tu bernardyni, później kapucyni.
Parafia katolicka przetrwała w Jurewiczach do
r. 1866 (należała do dekanatu mozyrsko-rzeczyckiego
i miała kaplicę w Hliniszczu), wtedy
bowiem kościół został zamieniony na
cerkiew. Miasteczko ma około 140 domów, 900
mieszk.; mieści się tu biuro II okr, polic.; jest
szkółka wiejska. Gmina się składa z 18
starostw wiejskich, 43 wsi i liczy 2335 włościan
płci męzkiej. Jurewicze sa prawdziwą
malowniczą, oazą śród głuchych topielisk polesia
rzeczyckiego. Posiadają przywileje króla
Stanisława Augusta z r. 1778. Historyk jezuitów

A Catholic parish stayed there until 1866 (belonging to the Mozyr-Rechitsa deanery with a chapel in Hliniszcz) when it was then replaced by an orthodox church. The village has about 140 houses, 900 inhabitants, a municipal police station and a village school are also situated here. The municipality is comprised of 18 small towns, 43 villages and has 2,335 male inhabitants. Jurewicze is a beautiful picturesque oasis situated in the middle of the dead marshes of Rzeczycki Polesia.The king Stanislaus August gave privileges to the town in 1778. Jesuit historian Rostowski does not mention the city although it was important for Polesia from the view of this orders mission. The property of Jurewicze in the Reczyck district which was once called Oskierky had been bought by a merchant named Bakunienki, who then went on to acquire 3440 mr.

folwarkami Szewiczowi, które do dziśdnia są
własnośeią tej rossyjskiej rodziny. Gmina
jurewicka składa się z 7 starostw, 42
niewielkich wiosek i ma 1960 włośoian płci męzkiej.
Jest tu cerkiew parafialna, szkółka wiejska i
stacya pocztowa; wieś ma osad 10. W tym
obrębie dziedzictwo Szewiczów ma obszara
