The Barkan Family

This is a photograph of the maternal Grandfather’s Family. It was taken in Vitebsk in late 1905. The photograph shows the Barkan family but is not complete. My grandfather Morris (Mordecai) is missing. In the back (standing) are Israel, and Joseph. I am not certain of the identity of the women but think they include Yehudis (a Barkan by marriage) Fanny Barkan, Reba and one of whom I am not sure. On the front row, seated are Rose Barkan (nee Kartos), my grandmother, Harry Barkan, the father of the other and his wife, Fayga Barkan (nee Skabalove) seated on her lap is the baby, Celia Barkan, the daughter of Rose.
