The Eidelson/Eidelsohn & Zeitlin, Sladkin/Zlatkin Families
This information was donated by JE.
The family moved from Vitebsk to Palestine around 1890-1892. They settled in Jerusalem, Rehovot, and Tel-Aviv.
The Zeitlin family also came from Vitebsk. One of them married into the above Eidelsohn/Eidelson family.
The Sladkin/Zlatkin family settled in Philadelphia, PA.
My great-great-grandfather was Samuel Eidelsohn/Eidelson. He had an older half-brother (same mother, different father) Max Sladkin who lived in Philadelphia. Their common mother was Chana Batia Zeitlin (who was first married to a Sladkin and then married Levi-Yitzhak Eidelsohn). I am speculating that the unusual name of Sladkin may have originally been Zlatkin.
