Glubokoye
Jews were mentioned here in the middle of the 16 century. It was under the jurisdiction of the Smorgon community in the Council of Lithuania. Samuel Mohilever was Rabbi here from 1848 to 1856. In the beginning of German occupation, Jews who were accused of being communists were put to death. A ghetto was formed in November 1941. There was a strong resistance organization, so the Germans burned the ghetto. (EJ)
