Collection of materials on the Holocaust of Yalta Jews in winter 1941 started in 1998 and represents one of the first integration programs implemented by Yalta Jewish community as it involves young and middle-age participants.

The result of this work was publication of Eduard Levin’s book “Fourty Days before Shooting” that stimulated community members to start collecting money for arranging the memorial at the place where 2,000 Yalta Jews were shot.

Up to now, the memorial has been erected, the book has been published through “Joint” support, but the work of the “Search” program is going on: E. Levin and E. Spector has prepared a book for publication, which is titled “Warriors of Yakov’s House” and dwells on Yalta citizens’s contribution into the victory over fascists.

A large number of authentic documents, personal things, orders and life stories of the Jews-war participants has been accumulated by us.

The museum that is being created now will include the material collected and continue the search.
