The Mass Grave Site

The mass grave site outside of Kedainiai where the Jews of Seta, Kedainiai and Zeimiai were murdered on 28 August 1941 (5 Elul), the yarzheit date for those Jewish communities. Although the plaque says that 2,076 persons were murdered there (which is the official Jäger report figure), it is most likely incorrect. It is estimated that at least 3,200 died. I have been to this spot on three occasions, twice on the yarzheit date, and have brought flowers and a memorial candle in remembrance.
