This old and broken stone, with raised lettering, appears to say Shabbat,
Erev Rosh Hodesh Nisan 5560 (1800), but Erev Rosh Hodesh was a Wednesday
that year.
The Nisan is definite as the year appears to be, so the problem is probably with the precise date. The grave is for a man, but the part with the name is broken. |
