Rokiskis Necrology |
There is no list of people from Rokiskis who were killed in the Holocaust. For the most part, no records were kept. So we have to try to recreate this information from a variety of sources like the ones listed below to pages of testimony filed at Yad Vashem by friends and family members. This is but one way to remember and memorialize our friends and family who were murdered. |

Below you will find several tables which provide the names of Rokiskis people who ended up in German concentration camps. |
This information is gathered from several JewishGen Databases. Thanks to the efforts of Holocaust researcher Peter Lande and his volunteers, we are able to look at the translated information from the
Captured German Records Collection,
which is housed at the United States National Archives in College Park, MD. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum purchased copies of these many reels of microfilm, which prompted this project. |

Sharit Ha-Platah , which translates into English as "Holocaust Survivors" or literally as "Counted Remnant", was published in 1946 by the "Central Committee of Jews in Bavaria", in Munich, Germany and contains the names of 61,387 Jews who survived the Holocaust. Most of these names were collected by Chaplain (Rabbi) Abraham
Klausner, who visited many of the camps in southern Germany where survivors had gathered in late 1945 and 1946. For more information on this collection go to the
