Location: 53º 02'N, 20º 53'E
54 miles north of Warsaw, 29 miles west of Ostrolęka, and 15 miles northeast of Ciechanow.
                                                   
The town of Przasnysz is located in the county/district (powiat) of Przasnysz, in the 
voivodeship (province) of Mazovia, on the Węgierka River.  It covers an area of 9.71 square
miles and has a population of 17,062

Przasnysz County includes the town of Przasnysz, Gmina* Przasnysz, Gmina Chorzele,
Gmina Czernice Borowe, Gmina Jednorożec, Gmina Krasne and Gmina Krzynowloga Mala
.

The town of Przasnysz serves as the headquarters for the county government and for
Gmina Przasnysz.
  Gmina Przasnysz is a rural area, comprised of villages and settlements. 
Its territory does not include the town of Przasnysz.  It has a population of 7,165 (2006)
and contains 71.0 square miles.
