Druch/Dritch Family
|
The
Druch/Dritch family originated in Yurovschina (Labun), Russia, now
Ukraine, 22 km or 13.7 miles from Poninka.
We don’t know when or why the Druchs, Efroim (born in
Yurovschina 1860 and died in Poninka c. 1922) and his wife Rochel
Shereshevsky (born in Yurovschina c. 1860 and died in Poninka 1922)
moved to Poninka. However,
all of their children were born there, so we will consider them to be a
Poninka family. (And we don’t know why some family members used Dritch
while others used Druch.)

Massachusetts and they had a son Harry. He died in 1963.
|
Icek Druch lived in Poninka and had 3 children that we know about -
daughter Ljubov (Lubov) Dritch who was born in Poninka in 1907 and moved
to Gothenberg, Sweden, where she died in 1980; Fania who married Grisha
Unk; and Borish who married Xenia and had children Ilya and Valdek.
|
Hersch Druch was married to Tonia Zorne and had a son Joseph.
Tonia was killed in the Holocaust in Dubno ( about 100 miles from
Poninka) while Hersch died in Haifa, Israel.
