memorial

This memorial was erected in the Avas Hill cemetery by Imre Kovács
after World War II, for his parents (the grandparents of John J. Kovacs),
his son István, and his wife Madga Fischer.

The inscription reads:
In Auschwitz in June 1944, the most precious and selfless parents
of unforgettable blessed memory were infamously exterminated.
Kohn Sándorné born Mülhoffer Malvin lived 64 years (Malka)
Kohn Sándor lived 62 years (Yitzhak ben David ha-Kohain)
My innocent 30-months old little son Istvánka (David Yosef Moshe)
The self-sacrificing mother Kovács Imrene born Fischer Magda
IN THEIR MEMORY.
WE SHALL NEVER FORGET YOU.
