Miodowa ("New") Cemetery

The vast majority of tombstones in the Miodowa Street Cemetery were of limestone, and have now weathered beyond any recognition. Many tombstones were also destroyed by the Germans — used as paving for the road to the Plaszow Camp. Remaining pieces of stones were re-assembled into some of the walls at the edge of the cemetery. Tombstones that were cut from marble, and those of more recent origin are legible. Images of some of the remaining tombstones can be seen in the Kraków Album.
